20 Days of the Miracle Morning! As I explained in my fist post, I read “The Miracle Morning” by Hal Elrod and decided to take on the 30 day Miracle Morning Challenge. 20 days in and I’m still loving it.
For the first part of the challenge I wasn’t seeing any great changes in the areas of my life I was focusing on. I really loved the early morning and felt great all day after completing TMM which made me want to continue practicing each day. Around Day 18 I started realizing that I was working more productively towards goals that I’ve had for a while but never made any headway. Writing each morning has helped clear my mind, get my thoughts on paper clearly, and sparked creativity. Revisiting my affirmations reminds me each day what is really important and what I’m working towards. So while you might not see results at first, I encourage you to stick with it daily and you will see great progress in your areas of focus.
There have been a couple of useful tools that I’ve used during the challenge. I downloaded the app, Headspace, and used their 10 day trial for my silence practice. For me, I need a guided meditation as I am still new to the practice and it helps me get the most out of my time. If this app works for you, you can then subscribe for a year. I really appreciate how they let you test it out for 10 days, each 10 minute sessions. See if it works for you! Another tool I’ve used is Do Yoga With Me. Usually Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I’ll do my full Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide (these workouts are SO hard and amazing) and on off days, I’ll run, walk, or hike. I’ve been wanting to get back into a regular yoga practice but lately my work schedule hasn’t been aligning with local studio schedules. This website allows me to pick the length of time I’m interested in and level of difficulty. This morning I did the 20 Minute Morning Vinyasa and then went for a 20 minute run. It was a great balance for me and I love the flexibility of being able to do it as a part of my early morning.
Due to a busy Labor Day Weekend which included lots of traveling, I did miss two days of TMM. I realized how much it impacted my mood and overall well-being for the day. This was a great experience because it showed me that TMM is really making a difference in my day-to-day living. You have to give yourself a little grace when life gets in the way of your plans and instead of letting it derail you, get back to it as soon as possible.
Check back in 10 days for my completion of The Miracle Morning 30 Day Challenge.
