Shaking the cob webs off Just a Sliver! Hey now, it’s been a minute. The reason for the silence is a two-fold..first, I spent most of last fall/winter building and preparing Kelly Strong Events for its official launch in November! That was an exciting launch and is still very much a baby business trying to gain some momentum. After that exciting launch, it was a rough Winter (personally) that ended with a move to the midwest in the early Spring. So here I am, finally settled in to life in Chicago. Trying to get settled into new routines and exploring my surroundings. I’m living in Chicago’s Lincoln Park and so far, I love it!
Although I love it here, I do NOT love the weather. It has been less than ideal since the moment I arrived. We’ve had glimmers of what the Spring could look like but it has been short lived. Really hopeful that this will turn itself around…soon!
Because of the weather and the fact that my building has been under construction every single day since I moved in (thanks for the heads up!) next week I am escaping to the South for a change of scenery. I’ll be revisiting Charleston and visiting Savannah for the first time. I’m really looking forward to some warm weather, bike riding, and peace and quiet. Looking to really hit the “restart” button so I can come back inspired and out of this current funk.
In recipe related news, a fun old golf cupcake recipe was featured on GoodHousekeeping.com – check it out! Really exciting and unexpected and made me realize that it’s time to get back to baking.
Happy Friday & Cinco de Mayo! Olé!
