Grilled Berry Dessert Pizza

Just a Sliver: Grilled Berry Dessert Pizza

Does anything say Happy Birthday USA better than this perfectly colorful, deliciousĀ Grilled Berry Dessert Pizza? Just in time for your 4th of July BBQ, this recipe is SO simple and quick to put together – you can do it all outside, next to your grill. You know I love a simple recipe for the summer…we need to minimize the time spent indoors and enjoy every second of the nice weather. I’ve been wanting to try my own dessert pizza for a few years now and mmhhhmmm I am happy with the results. I think Gram would have more than Just a Sliver. Grab some pre-made pizza dough, Nutella, your favorite berries and you will have a fan-favorite dessert for your holiday party. 20 minutes and you’re done! If you are feeling crazy ambitious and want to make your own dough, more power to you. I added a little fluff (I had some leftover from the Chocolate Cupcakes with Marshmallow Filling) because 1. you can never go wrong with fluff 2. the white adds a little more USA spirit and 3. why wouldn’t you add fluff? Enjoy this pizza, enjoy the holiday, and enjoy the sunshine. Happy Birthday, Merica.Just a Sliver: Grilled Berry Dessert Pizza

Grilled Berry Dessert Pizza

Yield: 1 homemade pizza

Ingredients

  • Pre-made, unrolled pizza dough
  • 2 cups fresh berries of your choice (I did raspberries, blueberries, blackberries)
  • Nutella
  • Marshmallow Creme (Fluff)
  1. Preheat grill to about 300Ā°. Wash and dry fresh berries.
  2. Gradually form dough into a circle/oval - try to minimize the number of holes..sometimes easier said than done.
  3. Lightly spray grill rack with non-stick spray.
  4. Place dough directly on grill (photo below) and close the lid.
  5. After about 5-8 minutes flip dough.
  6. Continue to grill dough to reach your desired "crispiness" - I should have left mine on longer, so probably at least 20 minutes.
  7. Remove dough from grill and place on baking sheet - one you're willing to put on the grill.
  8. Spread Nutella over the crust (as much as you want!) and cover with berries.
  9. In microwave safe container, warm Marshmallow Creme so it can be drizzled on pizza. Lightly drizzle on top of berries.
  10. Return baking sheet with pizza to grill (photo below). Close lid and let warm for 5-7 minutes.
  11. Remove from grill and let pizza stand for 5 minutes before slicing.
